Our Web Content Remediation Service For Large Projects

We offer a number of digital accessibility services, the most popular of which is audits. However, lately a new contender has begun to emerge: requests for web content remediation.

The clients here are mostly public entities covered by the new ADA Title II web rule. They need help making sure all of their web content is compliant by the respective April 2026 and 2027 deadlines.

Specifically, web content includes:

  • text
    • blog posts
    • information pages
  • images
    • photos
    • maps
    • infographics
    • icons
  • video
    • YouTube videos
    • independent video
    • webinars
    • conferences
    • recorded streams
  • audio
    • podcasts
    • audio files
  • documents
    • PDFs
    • Word documents
    • PowerPoints
    • Spreadsheets

We’ve added examples of each type of content so that we’re on the same page.

One of our larger clients approached us with the idea of a review, remediation, and upload service where we take care of everything from the remediation of the web content to the implementation on the actual websites.

We love this idea and want to extend this offering to other prospective clients who need a done-for-you service where all web content is filtered through us and we ensure everything is WCAG 2.1 AA conformant when uploaded.

Obviously, for each project there will be pricing on a case-by-case basis. The reason is because some web content is easier to remediate than others.

For example, adding audio descriptions for videos with a lot of scene changes and action is time consuming and difficult.

However, here is our general pricing for remediating web content:

  • $2.25 per image (alt text, mark as decorative)
  • $2.25 per minute of closed captioning
  • $17.50 per minute of audio descriptions
  • $1.50 per minute for text transcripts
  • $0.065 per word of text

These rates go along with baseline rates for the content itself. This is the setup cost which can be worked through based on the volume of content. This prevents someone from just asking us to remediate 2 videos that are 2 minutes each and spending more time setting up remediation than it’s worth for us to actually charge the above remediation rates.

If you need help with a web content remediation project – big or small – feel free to reach out and we’ll be happy to provide an estimate.
