Do Enterprise Audits Cost More Than Small Business Audits?

Pricing for accessibility audits should not be determined by the organization type. For example, if an enterprise and a small business request a WCAG 2.1 AA audit from Accessible.org for the same digital asset, the quote remains the same.

We price by the amount of work, not client annual revenue.

Is it fair to say that enterprise clients generally come to us with more involved websites, web apps, and mobile apps?

Yes, but we’re still pricing by the amount of work involved in auditing the digital assets, not by the fact that the prospective client is a large company.

A 20-page brochure site costs the same to audit whether it belongs to a Fortune 500 company or a local law firm. The pages, components, and functionality are what drive the scope. That is what determines the price.

Where enterprise audits may cost more in practice is complexity. Large organizations often have web applications with authenticated portals, role-based workflows, dynamic content, and custom interactive components. Those elements require more testing time.

That said, the scope for an enterprise website should not be significantly more than any other website unless the site has several pages or screens across primary user flows and many different page templates or layouts. Most websites, regardless of who owns them, reuse the same templates and components throughout. The audit scope reflects that.

If you are an enterprise looking for a quote, you should not be charged more simply because your annual revenues top $100 million. Any digital accessibility company should be able to justify their quote based on the amount of work involved.
