Tracker is the First Open Audit-Based Accessibility Platform

We’ve searched deep on Google and deep searched ChatGPT and we can’t find a single audit-based platform that’s open to the public. ChatGPT says that some enterprise platforms have the capability, but it’s a closed ecosystem only for clients who purchase a package.

We can’t confirm whether that’s true as of Q4 of 2025, but we can confirm that Accessibility Tracker is audit-based and open to the public. In fact, you can sign up for a free plan and start tracking accessibility issues.

Okay, but what’s an audit-based platform?

An audit-based accessibility platform is one that uses audit report data.

This is a big deal because most platforms are scan-based which means they rely upon automated scan results.

Scan results are unhelpful to most consumers because scans are limited to only flagging approximately 25% accessibility issues and the results are not conclusive. Ultimately, even if you have access to the best, most expensive scan in the world, you’ll still need a good ol’ fashion accessibility audit (that’s 100% fully manual).

The base means everything because that’s the foundation for analytics, progress, and ultimately full WCAG conformance. And full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance (or 2.2 AA) is the goal for almost every client we talk to. After all, most are either seeking to be compliant with the law or return a VPAT / ACR that meets the desired procurement standard (again, usually WCAG 2.1 AA).

This leads to the simple beauty of Accessibility Tracker: you’re working from your audit report so you know exactly what it takes to be fully conformant (and therefore compliant). This means project management and leadership can check in on progress. This means the analytics and data visualizes are an accurate snapshot of where the project stands.

This means organizations have organized, streamlined projects they can be confident in when working towards ADA or EAA compliance.

Scan-based platforms only have value for practitioners who understand their role and capabilities. For most clients, scan-based platforms are an unnecessary purchase that leads them to chasing a 100% score of 25% of issues.

This is one of the reasons why Tracker is needed in the marketplace.
