The old claims of “AI-Powered” instant accessibility solutions were obviously lies, but the new wave of accessibility AI is the truth. Here’s what happened (and is still happening to this day):
Widget sellers claimed they could automate WCAG 2.1 AA conformance and that their AI-powered widgets made a website ADA compliant, etc. The funny thing about all of their various claims is they never said specifically how they automated accessibility — as in, step-by-step, can you show me how this actually works. And, of course, that’s because they couldn’t.
But real accessibility AI actually makes a big, tangible difference. We’re currently building products that streamline the accessibility process and save real time and real money.
Accessibility Tracker is our flagship product and part of what makes it the best on the market is we’ve integrated real AI to make fixing issues much easier — even for developers, designers, and content editors who have no clue what WCAG is.
What we’ve done is baked artificial intelligence inside the remediation process and pre-prompted AI with your audit results based on 5 options:
- Explain what this issue means in simple terms
- Give me the technical code breakdown
- Provide alternative workarounds for fixing the issue
- Explain the WCAG success criterion
- Enter a custom prompt for none of the above
This is real AI, making a real difference by saving teams time and money during remediation.
A developer encounters an issue for WCAG success criterion 4.1.2. Instead of spending 25 minutes trying to figure out what 4.1.2 requires and hunting through Stack Overflow, they click “Explain what this issue means in simple terms” and instantly get: “Interactive elements like buttons and form fields need to properly communicate their name, role, and current state to assistive technologies. This ensures screen reader users know what each element does and can interact with it effectively.” Then they can dive deeper with the technical breakdown or explore alternative fixes. That’s 25 minutes saved on just one issue — multiply that across dozens of issues and multiple team members.
Notice how at no point have we said we’ve created “automated testing” or “instant remediation” — that’s because neither exist.
We’re still relying upon our good, ol’ fashion manual audits as the foundation for everything. You upload your audit report to Accessibility Tracker to get started and from there you have access to a number of useful features along with our AI tools.
The theme here is we’re integrating AI to make accessibility and compliance more efficient and more effective.
And that theme carries forward into our newest products including our brand new EAA App to help make compliance with the European Accessibility Act as easy as possible.
And we’ve got at least one more product release in store for the second half of 2025.
The difference is we’re not replacing accessibility experts or bypass the necessary work to make digital assets truly accessible. We’re giving teams the tools to work smarter, understand issues faster, and fix problems more efficiently. It’s AI as a force multiplier, not a magic machine.
We’re leading the way in bringing AI technology to accessibility and compliance. Not many people know about our products yet, but they will. Soon.
